Canadian historical links

The Canadian army bore the brunt of the fighting at Dieppe, and so it’s not surprising that the most extensive resources on the battle are Canadian. Most of the books that have been published on the battle are Canadian, and make use of the extensive Canadian archives.

Video links


Both the Germans and allies used newsreels to tell the story of the raid. A number of people have put together different presentations of them. Here are two of the best, posted on You Tube. (Historians will note a number of inaccuracies included in the footage. The German "action" footage was actually shot after the battle.)
